Does Crysis 2 have anything to do with the first crysis?

I want to play Crysis, but my computer can't run it. So I want to play the second game, BUT first I wanna make sure whether Crysis 2 has anything to do with the first one because I don't wanna get lost in the game's story and be like "Dah **** just happened?!".Does Crysis 2 have anything to do with the first crysis?
Yes it does, but it would still be fun.



Crysis 1 is about some special forces from america visit an island owned by the japanese, the japanese appearently found some interesting alien stuff and was investigating the island. The special forces (You with awesome suit powers) are there to investigate whatever the japenese are investigating (They aren't sure what's going on at all) and well you end up finding the aliens.



The 2nd one is about the aliens attacking new york.



No I didn't give anything away, you find out about the aliens about 2 1/2 minutes into the first game.Does Crysis 2 have anything to do with the first crysis?
It does tie in with the first one, the suit is the whole point of Crysis and number 2 continues from where 1 left off. Mind you Crysis 2 does explain what happened in 1 pretty well and it isn't completely necessary to play the first one BUT I'd recommend playing number one just because it truly is a groundbreaking gameDoes Crysis 2 have anything to do with the first crysis?
I have been enjoying crysis TWO all day long, what a badass game I say. Luckily Managed to get it for nothing from a good friend whom knows how to locate these items! I left a website link anyone dying to test the brand new cry engine!
